The Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Samuel Basintale Amadu, has made a significant decision by recalling 78 personnel who were previously placed on interdiction. This move comes in response to allegations against these officers for involvement in recruitment and visa scams, as well as other misconducts. During a meeting held at the National Headquarters, CGI Amadu emphasized that this recall is not an act of amnesty but rather a transition back into the Service, where the involved personnel will be subjected to internal disciplinary procedures. He reaffirmed that those who are found guilty will face appropriate sanctions.

Amadu's decision reflects his commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring adherence to due process within the organization. He made it clear that disciplinary matters will no longer be delayed, signaling a crucial shift in organizational culture aimed at accountability and integrity. In his address, he urged all officers to respect both their superiors and subordinates, underscoring the importance of maintaining the dignity of the Service.

In a stern reminder, CGI Amadu warned against any repeat of past misconduct, declaring that any future cases involving fraud, recruitment malpractices, or visa irregularities would be reported to the police for further investigation. He also noted that for officers eligible for promotion, careful due diligence will be performed based on the outcomes of their respective trials.

These remarks mark a pivotal moment in the GIS's journey toward professionalism and excellence. CGI Amadu was accompanied by his deputy officials, who play critical roles in the administration, including Mr. Laud Affrifah (Operations and Command Post), Mr. Isaac Owusu Mensah (Finance and Administration), and Assistant Commissioner Phillip Peter Andoh (Legal Research and Monitoring). With this action, Amadu aims to uplift the Service's image, ensuring that all personnel conduct themselves ethically and contribute positively to the GIS's reputation moving forward.

Notably, he cautioned against repeating past misconduct, warning that disciplinary cases involving fraud, recruitment malpractices, or visa irregularities would be referred to the Police for further investigation.
