Isaac Olayiwola, widely recognized as Layi Wasabi, has made a name for himself in the comedy and skit-making world, entertaining audiences with his distinct style and infectious sense of humor. While his fans love many aspects of his comedic persona, the award-winning comedian recently opened up to Saturday Beats about what he finds funniest about himself.
"I can't pinpoint the funniest thing about me, but one thing that always cracks me up is my height. People are often surprised by how tall I am when they meet me in person. It’s funny because that ‘unexpected’ height often shows up in my skits, especially in how I position myself for comedic effect," he shared.
In a heartfelt message to fans who may be feeling down, Wasabi encouraged them to find joy in the little things. "There are so many ways to lift your spirits when you're feeling low. You can check out my Instagram or Kiekie's page for a little fun. There's so much content out there to make you smile—just find what brings you happiness," he advised.
Wasabi also expressed his excitement about attending a recent press conference for Nigerian Idol, where he shared his admiration for former contestant Iyanya. "Meeting the stars was a highlight for me. I'm a huge fan of Iyanya, the new judge, and it was amazing to see him in person again. The energy and passion from the Nigerian Idol team are truly impressive," he said.
Meanwhile, Yoruba Fuji musician, Alhaji Taye Adebisi, widely known as Taye Currency, has openly declared that his popular Fuji counterpart, Wasiu Alabi, aka Pasuma, is his boss, while he regards Saheed Osupa as a colleague.
Taye Currency shared this in an interview with Akede Ariya last Thursday, where he spoke about his relationship with Pasuma and how they first met.
He clarified that he did not learn Fuji music from Pasuma, but his admiration for him has always been strong, particularly due to Pasuma’s humility, which left a lasting impression on him. Read more here.
