The latest team news ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final weekend, as Pep Guardiola addresses Rodri's progress in his comeback from an ACL injury and whether he can feature at the FIFA Club World Cup. Elsewhere, Luke Shaw was the headline inclusion in Manchester United training on Friday, while Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro also returned. Meanwhile, Lewis Dunk returns for Brighton & Hove Albion.

He said: "I don’t know, I hope and wish," said Guardiola on Rodri’s potential involvement in the 32-team tournament.

"It will be nice if he could play tomorrow, but we don’t want to do a wrong decision right now and take a step back.

"The doctor says he’s injured for six, seven months. He’s behaving really well on the pitch already.

"Competitive [football] is completely different. We will see. I rely on what the physios and the doctor say.

"We don’t want to use him for two weeks and then not have him for a long time afterwards. We have to make sure that he’s fine."

Turning our attention to the other side of Manchester, and there was a positive update concerning Luke Shaw.

The club reported that Shaw is back in training on Friday, after only managing three appearances for Manchester United so far this season.

Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro also took part in the session at Carrington, as the centre-backs work their way back from calf and foot problems respectively.

Maguire's last appearance came in the FA Cup fifth-round defeat to Fulham, while Yoro has not featured since being withdrawn at half-time in the side's 1-1 draw with Arsenal on March 9

With the international break now complete Manchester City return to action this weekend. They take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in an FA Cup quarter-final tie on Sunday. Pep Guardiola spoke to the media earlier today and he provided good news on the injury front for his team ahead of Sunday’s match.

Based on Pep Guardiola’s update, Manchester City has a clean bill of health coming out of the international break. They will head to the Vitality Stadium without Rodri, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake. But they have picked up no fresh injury concerns over the international break.

It now remains to be seen who Pep Guardiola elects to start at the Vitality Stadium. But he should have all of his players available for selection outside of Manchester City’s long-term injured players. That is a massive boost for his team as they enter the finals stages of the 24/25 season.

The 22-year-old has revived his career somewhat after his disastrous spell with PSG and reports this week have suggested that Ruben Amorim's side are keen to now bring him to the Premier League.

But Sky Sports Germany have revealed that United would potentially have to pay in the region of €80m for his services this summer.

The Old Trafford outfit are on the hunt for a forward having given up hope with Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Ekitiké meanwhile has so far netted 19 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions this term.
