Ruben Amorim outlines why Manchester United benefits from Marcus Rashford's performance for Aston Villa.
Even though Marcus Rashford is playing well on loan at Aston Villa and scored his first two goals for the team on Sunday, Ruben Amorim isn't sorry he let him go from Manchester United.
Marcus Rashford's comeback to form at Aston Villa is excellent news for Manchester United, according to Ruben Amorim, but he emphasised that his primary attention is on the players he coaches.
Rashford, who is now on loan from United to Villa until the end of the season, scored two goals in Sunday's 3-0 FA Cup victory over Preston, marking his first goals for Unai Emery's team.
Amorim was questioned about if Rashford's comeback to form at Villa will affect the forward's prospects of staying at United after being called up to England duty following his loan move.
Amorim, however, would not comment on Rashford's future, saying merely that any United player who performs well while on loan is excellent for the team. At the conclusion of the loan, Villa has the option to purchase the 26-year-old for £40 million.
"I'm focused on my team and my players, and we have a lot of games to play," Amorim stated. "Although Rashford isn't my player right now, our team benefits from every player who plays while on loan."
“First of all, I’m not surprised,” said Amorim. “I know the work that he did in Portugal, in Spain and he did really well here at Wolves. Then he went to Tottenham, started really well there, then things happened.
“But I’m not surprised. You feel it in the team, the environment that they have, the way his team plays, they have energy and mobility, so I’m not surprised. He’s a tough manager.”:

When asked if United, who haven't played in two weeks, would profit from Forest playing 120 minutes on Saturday before defeating Brighton on penalties, As Amorim put it: "I'm not sure.
“They played that cup stage and won, which is really important to recover players.” “Nuno will say it was better to have more time to prepare for the game and it's a long time in a good moment without games.
