Kevin De Bruyne will go down in history as one of the best passers the Premier League has ever seen. Since the Belgian midfielder, who is 33 years old, will be leaving Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, it's time to see where he ranks in the Premier League's all-time assists list. The list includes Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney, among others. For nearly a decade, Manchester City's attack has been led by Kevin De Bruyne, who has produced numerous moments of pure class. Despite the fact that the Belgian midfielder will end his City career at the end of the season, his performances will be remembered for a long time. 5. Frank Lampard (102 assists)
Frank Lampard is probably better remembered for his goalscoring exploits than his passing range.
However, the star of West Ham United, Chelsea, and Man City could break open a defense at any time. With 102 assists in the Premier League, he currently sits fifth in the all-time assist standings. 4. 103 assists for Wayne Rooney Lampard's former England teammate Wayne Rooney is fourth with 103 assists.
During his time at Old Trafford, the all-time leading scorer for Manchester United formed deadly partnerships with players like Robin van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo. It is a testament to the all-around player that he was that he finds himself on this list alongside some of the most creative midfielders the Premier League has ever seen.
3. Cesc Fabregas (111 assists)
Speaking of creative midfielders, former Arsenal and Chelsea man Cesc Fabregas is in third with 111 assists.
The World Cup winner was a powerful force for The Gunners until he left to join Barcelona, a Spanish powerhouse, and then returned to England to play for Chelsea. He will go down as one of the best players the league has ever seen because he was a key part of their 2014/15 Premier League title victory. 2. Kevin De Bruyne (118 assists)
De Bruyne has 118 assists in the Premier League, all of which have come against Man City (the other was against Chelsea in 2013/14), putting him in second place. His passing range and calm demeanour in front of goal have helped City to six Premier League titles and some of the greatest individual campaigns in the competition's history.
However, he is not the player with the most Premier League assists.
1. 162 assists from Ryan Giggs Ryan Giggs, a legend at Manchester United who led the Red Devils to 162 Premier League goals during his long career, is the recipient of this honor. De Bruyne's second place is an incredible achievement, though, considering he played far fewer games than Giggs (currently 352).
The Welsh winger has played 632 Premier League games and ranks third all-time in appearances. De Bruyne trails Giggs by 50 assists, so it all comes down to how long he wants to play for City. The Belgian has one year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, and if he wants to catch Giggs, he would have to extend it by at least two years. It looks unlikely given the uncertainty over his future at City and the club's reluctance to offer long-term contracts to players over the age of 30. But if De Bruyne wants to make Premier League history, he has a good motive to extend his stay with the club.
