The Accra High Court has granted an injunction sought by former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, restraining brand influencer Tina Mensah and CEO of S.O Herbal Centre, Sophia Ocansey, from making any further public statements or associating her name with a GH¢5 million defamation case concerning alleged nude video circulation.

The court's ruling, delivered on Thursday, April 10, prohibits both Mensah and Ocansey from commenting on Asiamah-Adjei or linking her to the ongoing legal matter until the defamation suits are concluded. This decision follows a GH¢5 million defamation lawsuit filed by Asiamah-Adjei against Ocansey, alleging "false and malicious" remarks made against her on TikTok and other social media platforms. Asiamah-Adjei claims these remarks are part of a coordinated effort to damage her reputation.

According to court documents, Ocansey allegedly made repeated defamatory statements targeting Asiamah-Adjei, which gained significant traction on social media. Asiamah-Adjei argues that these statements were a deliberate attempt to harm her image.

In a related but separate case, Asiamah-Adjei has accused Tina Mensah, a German-based Ghanaian brand influencer, of blackmail and character assassination. This accusation comes after Mensah named Asiamah-Adjei in a GH¢20 million defamation suit filed in the same court.

Mensah's lawsuit seeks GH¢20 million in aggravated and general damages, alleging the unauthorized recording and distribution of a nude video. Mensah claims the video was captured during a private visit to the home of Abigail Kwarteng in Kumasi on February 18, 2025. In her writ, Mensah alleges that Kwarteng, described as a foster daughter of Asiamah-Adjei, secretly filmed her exiting a bathroom unclothed and sent the footage to the former minister. The video subsequently appeared on TikTok and Facebook, causing, according to Mensah, irreparable harm to her personal and professional life, including the breakdown of her relationship and the loss of brand endorsements.

Asiamah-Adjei has vehemently denied any involvement in the video's circulation and states she has not received official notification of the suit. "I have not received any official service of the suit," Asiamah-Adjei said. "But I’ve seen the writ being widely circulated on social media. I have therefore instructed my lawyers to file an appearance, and a full defence will follow in the coming days."

She has challenged Mensah to provide evidence in court to support her claims, labeling the allegations as "unfounded and defamatory" and a calculated attempt to undermine her reputation. "The timing and nature of these accusations point to a calculated move to damage my credibility," she stated.

In her claim, Mensah alleges the video was recorded during a heated exchange with Kwarteng, who accused her of visa fraud. Mensah states she exited the bathroom in shock and was filmed in a vulnerable state. She claims to have received the video from an anonymous source and alleges Kwarteng admitted to filming it and sending it to Asiamah-Adjei. Mensah is demanding an unqualified apology from both defendants and a court declaration that the video's publication was defamatory and intended to destroy her career.
