The battle for Marcus Rashford is heating up, with Paris Saint-Germain said to be in talks with the Manchester United forward, leaving Aston Villa sweating over making the loan permanent. Other teams are keeping an eye on Tottenham left back Destiny Udogie and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, who could be available for £30 million this summer. Manchester City is also interested in Udogie. As a result, it should come as no surprise that Unai Emery wants to keep the deal, but Paris Saint-Germain, Villa's rivals in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, are also said to be interested in the 27-year-old. "Aston Villa are set to go head to head with Paris Saint-Germain this summer in a battle for Marcus Rashford," reads the article.Paris Saint-Germain in talks with Marcus Rashford
"Sun Sport can reveal the Premier League side want to make the current loan arrangement they have with the England star a permanent switch
"Manager Unai Emery has told Villa chiefs he’s confident the Manchester United forward’s head is in the right place and that signing him would help take the club to the next level.
"Rashford’s salary will be the major issue, but Villa hopes he can be persuaded to take a pay cut in order to secure a move that will help resurrect his career with the club and England," the statement reads. "The versatile forward came extremely close to a transfer to Paris in the summer of 2022," the report adds. According to the same source, Rashford and Luis Campos, Leonardo's replacement, have resumed talks. Pep Guardiola has made it clear he wants to strengthen his defence and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says City have added Udogie to their full-back shortlist.
"He has struggled for fitness and form during the difficult season for Spurs under Ange Postecoglou, but Guardiola still regards the 22-year-old Italian highly. "But getting Udogie out of Spurs could be tough, with Romano saying a deal is ‘not easy’.
"After signing a new long-term contract in 2023, Udogie has five years left on his contract with the Spurs." However, a deal fell apart in May of that year after PSG axed Leonardo and there is a strong feeling that if the Brazilian chief had stayed then Rashford would be playing for the French champions.
Nevertheless, the same source reports talks have been been revived between Rashford and Leonardo's replacement Luis Campos
