Prosper Addo has officially been
confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Krachi West Municipal
Assembly in the Oti Region, following a unanimous vote by assembly members. The
nomination by former President John Dramani Mahama was met with full support as
Mr. Addo secured 100% endorsement from all voting members of the assembly,
marking a significant moment in the region's local governance.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Addo
expressed deep appreciation to President Mahama for the confidence placed in
him. He pledged to work collaboratively with assembly members, local
stakeholders, and the community to fast-track development across the municipality.
His top priorities include improving access to reliable electricity for both
homes and businesses, enhancing job creation through local initiatives, and
addressing persistent water challenges in the area with sustainable solutions.
Mr. Addo emphasized the importance
of unity, calling on all stakeholders to set aside their differences and join
forces in pushing the municipality forward. According to him, true development
can only be achieved through a collective and inclusive approach, where every
voice is heard and every contribution counts.
The Member of Parliament for Krachi
West, Helen Adwoa Ntoso, also pledged her support for the new MCE. She
expressed optimism that working hand in hand with Mr. Addo would bring tangible
benefits to the people of Krachi West. However, the MP also voiced concern over
the continued low representation of women in key decision-making roles within
the Oti Region.
She highlighted the need for
increased female participation in politics and public leadership, noting that
many capable women shy away from political involvement due to a lack of
confidence. She encouraged women across the region to be bold and step forward,
stressing that their active involvement is vital to shaping the future of their
communities and the nation at large.
As the newly confirmed MCE begins
his tenure, expectations are high for impactful development, inclusive
