My Dream is to Lead Young Players to Remain on Track
We all have a dream that fuels our passion and gives purpose to our journey. My dream is simple but powerful: I wish to lead young players to remain on track. In a world filled with distractions, there are challenges and pressures, and young athletes get lost or off track. I would like to be the one who provides them with direction, inspiration, and encouragement — someone who makes them remain honest to their potential on and off the pitch.
I grew up around a lot of promising young players with aspirations of excellence. Some aspired to play for national teams, while others simply desired to be the best within their school or community. But after a while, most of them went astray. Some turned to vices, others gave up too soon, and the majority just didn't have someone to put their faith in them or show them the correct way. That left a deep impression on me. I came to understand that talent alone will not suffice — what young players really need is guidance, discipline, and encouragement.
My vision is to cultivate a culture that makes young players feel valued and recognized. I don't want to be simply a coach or mentor — I want to be a guide that helps them acquire not just skills but character too. I truly believe that education plays a great role in instructing discipline, teamwork, hard work, and humility, for these values spill over beyond the sport. When these items are introduced to players at a young age in life, they are more able to succeed not just in sports, but in life in general.
Among the most significant things in my vision is the production of training programs that not only stress physical development but mental strength. Confidence, concentration, and attitude are as vital as speed, strength, or technique. Young players give full-time away too often because they become frustrated and demoralized. I intend to teach them how to cope with pressure, how to come back from failure, and how to stay focused on their goals.
School education is also another key element in my vision. The majority of young players are of the notion that sports alone is their salvation, and thereby they abandon schools. I am keen to shift such mentality. I believe sporting aspirations can also be pursued in addition to ensuring education. I would like to educate young athletes that it's being a talented person rather than being a prodigious player who is powerful. That way, even if sports do not pan out, they still have a solid foundation for life.
To make this dream a reality, I plan to ultimately build a youth development center. It would be a safe place where young athletes can train, learn, and grow together. It would offer coaching, mentoring, tutoring, and life skills training — everything a young athlete needs to stay on track. It would be a place of inspiration and hope, where dreams are nurtured, not abandoned.
Helping younger players stay on course is not just about developing better sportspeople – it's about assisting in creating better people. It's about equipping them with the tools to overcome the adversity of life with strength, integrity, and resolve. When a young player succeeds because somebody believed in them, there is a multiplier effect that resonates out to families, communities, and even future generations.
That is the effect I wish to leave. That is my vision. And I will do everything within my ability to make it a reality.
