The story of Arshad and Jami began on a college campus. First encounter, initial glance, and eventually friendship. Everything, from friendship to love, was moving along like a dream. They were each other's destination.
Jami was a girl who was unpredictable, upbeat, and dreamy all at once. Arshad was somewhat serious, but when she was in front of Jami, she became as childlike as ever. They sheltered one another. The depth of love was so deep that she could not imagine a day without someone.
However, life does not always go as planned. Jami's family made the sudden decision to marry him. Meeting the bride, choosing the groom, everything seemed to be happening outside of Jami's will. The family ignored Jami's repeated attempts to persuade them. No one listened to Arshad either.
The night before the wedding, Jami and Arshad met for the last time. in a small park, where they had their first cup of coffee. Both of their eyes were full of sadness, and there was a half moon in the night sky. "Arshad, I know this is the last time we will meet. But may I inform you of something? Jami said in a voice that was shaking. "Say Jami... anything you want to say today. Today I am just your listener," Arshad said calmly.
"I will never forget you. All my love, all my dreams, everything was around you. But I was powerless to do anything." Arshad looked deeply and said, "Jami, love is not just about being close. Love means being happy with your happiness. That is my peace if the person you like most in your family loves you. Jami asked, "Can you make me yours for tonight?" with tears in her eyes. Arshad slowly held her hand. The night seemed to stop. They walked across the park, in the moonlight, with the gentle touch of the wind, and with a few last words, they created the last memory of love.
"If you ever have a daughter, Arshad, please tell her this story. So that she understands, never give up on your love." Jami smiled, with tears in her eyes.
Arshad did not speak. because his heart was pounding so hard. But outside there was only a quiet shadow.
The evening was over. Jami left. She got married to someone else. Arshad and Jami's story remained like a novel stopped in the middle.
After ten years... Arshad still occasionally goes to that old campus. Sits on that bench in the park, where he last held Jami's hand. Time has changed, life has changed, but the memory of that last night of love is still etched in his mind.
One day he came to that park with his daughter. The girl asked curiously, "Dad, why are you sitting here so quietly?"
Arshad smiled and said, "Here I loved the most important person in my life for the last time."
The girl didn't understand anything else. But she looked up at the sky and said, "Do you still love him, Dad?"
Arshad didn't say anything. "Love never ends, Mom, it just changes," she said. ---
"The Last Night of Love: Arshad and Jami" was the story.
