For the third consecutive year, Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-0 to advance to the Women's FA Cup final. Celin Bizet opened the scoring on six minutes, before Grace Clinton capped off a solid performance to send Marc Skinner's side to Wembley. They will face Sonia Bompastor's Chelsea, who turned things around to beat Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday.

The winger took it down nicely, before checking onto her right foot and bending the ball beyond Khiara Keating in the City net.

After 22 minutes, United's visitors were leading 2-0 when Clinton lost Gracie Prior to make it 2-0 from a Gabby George corner kick, giving the hosts a mountain to climb. Because Cushing's substitute bench lacked any real firepower, they were without their star striker Bunny Shaw, as well as other attacking outlets Vivianne Miedema and Lauren Hemp. After a goalmouth brawl, Bizet almost scored a second and United nearly scored a third on 65 minutes when Keating was smothered from close range. However, the advantage the visitors had got them into the final against Sonia Bompastor's Women's Super League leaders, who beat Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday in the other semi-final. The final on May 18 will be a repeat of the 2023 showpiece at Wembley, which Chelsea won 1-0.

United claimed the trophy for the first time when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 in last year's final.

Afterward, United manager Skinner stated that his team desired "revenge" against Chelsea. At halftime, Chelsea captain Millie Bright speaks: “It was pretty special! When half the country writes you off but we’ve got the monster mentality and we took our second chance. It was a five-star performance to take the title and it was extra special because Emma (Hayes) is leaving us.

“It’s been an emotional season, we have to stick together and I’m speechless.”

Mayra Ramirez - two goals, two assists today - is named player of the match.

In the other title match there has been an opening goal - Mary Fowler on the scoresheet for Man City! They’ll no doubt have heard about Chelsea’s early lead, but that will give them a boost that they can nonetheless stay in the hunt. Remember, they’re level on points so goal difference will count.

Fine left-footed finish from Fowler from the left side of the six-yard box.
