It's Been Raining Remontadas! Chelsea Pulls Off Late Win Against Fulham


It's been raining remontadas lately, with the latest coming from Chelsea, who pulled off a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Fulham, thanks to goals in the 83rd and 90th minutes.


Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a convincing 4-0 victory over 10-man Ipswich, after an Ipswich player received a red card early in the game for a rash challenge on Bukayo Saka.


Wolves also edged past Manchester United with a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of a goal by Pablo Sarabia.


Back to Chelsea—Enzo Maresca’s side is currently 5th in the Premier League, pending Nottingham Forest’s result. If Chelsea manages to clinch fifth place, they could qualify for Champions League football next season. However, even a fifth-place finish seems far-fetched at the moment, with Chelsea on 57 points—tied with Aston Villa (7th) and Nottingham Forest (6th).


In the Fulham match, Alex Iwobi opened the scoring, and Chelsea had no response until 18-year-old academy graduate Tyrique George—who came on for Nicolas Jackson in the 77th minute—found the back of the net in the 83rd minute. Pedro Neto then scored the winner at the 90th minute, sealing a crucial comeback for the Blues.


Maresca’s side has arguably not been at their best in the Premier League, especially since the start of 2025 when they dropped from second place. However, this crucial win against Fulham could serve as a turning point in their push for Champions League qualification—particularly after a disappointing draw with Ipswich last week.


As Chelsea continues to chase UCL football, reviving the form of key players like Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson will be vital to their campaign.


Meanwhile, Arsenal remain second in the table, while Liverpool maintain a commanding lead at the Having Crashed out of the Champions League, Liverpool are on their way to winning the premier League title.
