Zera Mission Africa has embarked on a community clean up exercise amidst easter celebration.
A Non-Governmental Organization, Zera Mission Africa, on Saturday, 19th April 2025, organized a clean-up exercise in Banda Fawoman, a community in the Banda district of the Bono Region as part of activities lined up for their Easter celebration.
According to the organization's coordinator for Bono, Ahafo, and Bono East Regions, Mr. Bright Debrah, said "cleanliness is next to godliness" and therefore forms part of their mission.
He pointed out that the organization has been cooperative in helping with cleaning, which is believed to promote a healthy environment for healthy living.
In an exclusive interview on Fabea FM with Apiah-Kubi, Mr. Debrah stated that a healthy community is a wealthy community, so the organization urges community members to keep their surroundings clean all the time.
“We are not doing this for only today, but will come together from time to time to clean the surroundings to ensure that the exercise has a long-term impact,” he added.
The coordinator urged the community members to take full responsibility for cleaning their environment for their own benefit. Cleaning the community must be the responsibility of all to come together to ensure that the surroundings are well and kept clean to prevent tye outbreak of diseases.
The team of Zera Mission Africa, including Fawoman community members, desilted the choked gutters and cleared the bushy areas within and around the Fawoman community.
The coordinator, who led the exercise, reiterated that the organization is determined to stop the untidy conditions in the Banda district. We are going to encourage the people to take this tas upon themselves to ensure that effective clean up exercise takes place in the community.
He stated, “It does not reflect well if you work in an untidy environment. Cleanliness is next to godliness. We must remind ourselves to keep our surroundings clean.”
To achieve transformational goals, Mr. Bright said that maintaining cleanliness is an essential responsibility, adding that an untidy environment discourages effective business operations citing that first impressions last forever.
To ensure sustainability, he stated that their team will regularly remind commuters to keep their surroundings clean.
The Fawoman community members expressed their willingness to always make themselves available for any integral part of civil service to clean their environment for healthy living.
The community members commended organizing the clean-up exercise by Zera Mission Africa on the aim of promoting a sense of community responsibility and environmental stewardship in Banda Fawoman.
