The 2025 Dzita Easter Homecoming Festival was more than a celebration; it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together. The message was loud and clear: Unity is the key to real progress.
National Peace Ambassador Clemence Gyato, who was the special guest of honour, spoke passionately to a large and lively crowd. Chiefs, youth groups, dignitaries, and residents all gathered to listen. His call to action was simple: the people of Dzita and nearby areas must come together and work as one.
“No government, person, or organisation can bring lasting change to a divided community,” Gyato said. “Let’s join hands and build the Dzita we all want to see.”
He wasn’t just giving a nice speech; he was talking about real problems that affect people every day. Issues like coastal erosion, poor roads, and lack of jobs for young people were front and centre. Gyato especially encouraged the youth to step up and take the lead in creating solutions.
But the spirit of unity wasn’t only in the speeches; it was felt throughout the entire festival. From colourful dances and music to strong fundraising efforts for better schools and cleaner neighbourhoods, the event showed that Dzita is ready to grow.
The government also made its presence felt. Representing the President and Vice President, Chief of Staff Alex Segbefia came with a message of support. He told the crowd that Dzita has not been forgotten. Plans for roads, schools, healthcare, and protection against coastal damage are in motion, and the promises made to the community will be kept.
“Development is something we all have to work on together,” Segbefia said, receiving cheers from the audience.
Traditional leaders also had their say. They spoke openly with government officials, sharing their concerns and ideas. It was a strong sign that real progress happens when leaders and people listen to each other and work side by side.
The Dzita Easter Homecoming Festival has now become much more than just a fun yearly event. It’s a place where people come together, talk about their future, and take action.
With this year’s strong focus on peace, unity, and community-led development, one thing is clear: Dzita isn’t sitting back and waiting for change. Dzita is moving forward together.
