I never thought that after some time I would call myself an author of epic fantasy. My story, captured in four books, began with a simple desire: to escape.
No, I did not think about suicide. I just wanted to change the environment. To live a little in a world where there are no utility bills, people do not know what inflation is. A world where the air does not contain radiation and exhaust fumes of burnt gasoline.
It turned out to be easy to invent such a world for myself. I became calmer and more balanced, and was even encouraged by my boss for my perseverance and hard work. And I traveled through a new world created by me.
At first, it was an ordinary journey. Forests and mountains, rivers and small villages.
My world began to demand that I expand my possessions and some actions. So, magic appeared in my world. Nothing unusual.
I decided that my magic was not just some kind of magic or a circus act with a rabbit disappearing in a hat. It should be different from the magic of other writers.
So a source of magic appeared in my world, which I called Oceania. The invisible and silent magic of Oceania pierces my country in all directions, and a person with a desire to create something useful, something beautiful, could rightfully call himself a magician.
My world blossomed with all the colors and shades. With the help of magic, I could travel around the country in a cart without harnessing horses. By the way, horses do not exist in my world.
There is a creature that I call a "fire horse", combining the physiology of a horse (four legs, mane, tail) and the grace of a black panther, its character, as well as the ability to burn with fire to scare off predators and those who want to ride.
Sorry, I got distracted.
In my world, either shaggy bulls or creatures that combine the features of a Chilean llama and a mule are used as riding animals. I called this creature a "lammul". And with the help of an image generator, I got a beautiful illustration.
My world was gradually filled with animals and creatures that were somewhat similar to those existing in the animal world of our planet, and all had differences. So, I got an armhorn, an aggressive and stupid rhinoceros with thick skin covered with many spikes.
Steppe dogs.
These animals seem to be similar to our dogs, but the animals of my world have intelligence. About the same as chimpanzees. Imagine what caravans of traders experience when they encounter packs of aggressive and intelligent dogs.
And most importantly - people.
I had to make a digression in my story and settle the first living creature named Nix. He escaped to my world from his owners, taking with him an artifact that I called the "Key". With this Key, Nix opened the Portal and pulled people from our planet.
Arriving in a new world and living in it for a little more than a year, a person, be it a scientist or an engineer, forgets all the knowledge they brought with them. Neither read nor write.
A bit harsh, but I wanted the new world to be different from the one I live in now.
Therefore, having found himself in this beautiful country, my character was able to live in it for no more than a year.
In my concept, my character ended up in a world where dragons ruled and threatened to destroy Oceania, and his first desire was to quickly return home.
Over time, I realized: the country that I called "Orqualia" is not just a fictional world.
It is a part of me.
A place where I can create, build, make mistakes, and correct. A place where good and evil are not schemes, but a choice that each hero makes for himself. My story has four books, and I am currently working on the fifth.
