Bayern Munich and Leroy Sané have reportedly reached an agreement over a new contract that will extend the winger’s stay at the Allianz Arena until 2028. The deal, expected to be finalized next week, signals a significant commitment from both club and thw player amid a period of transition for the Bundesliga giants.
According to sources close to the negotiations, the new contract will see Sané earn a fixed salary of €10 million per year, with the potential to earn an additional €5 million through performance-related bonuses. This represents a pay cut from his current deal, which is believed to be worth €15 million fixed, plus similar bonuses. Sané’s willingness to accept reduced terms is being viewed as a strong sign of his dedication to the club and belief in Bayern's project going forward.
Sané joined Bayern munchen from Manchester City in 2020 and has since become a vital part and important of the team’s attacking setup. Known for his pace, technical ability, and flair on the wing, the 29-year-old has had a solid 2024/25 season, contributing both goals and assists in domestic and European competitions.
The contract renewal is also a major win for Bayern’s new sporting director, Max Eberl, who has made it a top priority to secure the futures of key squad members. Despite reported rumours interest from Premier League side Arsenal and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, Sané appears to have made his mind up about staying in Munich, reportedly considering a move to Saudi Arabia “out of the question.”
With uncertainty surrounding other players and the club looking to bounce back from an inconsistent season, keeping Sané on board is a major boost. His experience and quality could be crucial as Bayern looks to rebuild and reclaim dominance both in Germany and in Europe.
The formal announcement is expected within the next few days, but for now, Bayern fans can take comfort in knowing that one of their most exciting and quality player is set to remain a central figure at the club for years to come.
