"Samini Became Ungrateful When He Met Tony" – Ayisha Modi Insists
Ghanaian personality and music financier Ayisha Modi has once stirred controversy with new claims against globally acclaimed dancehall artist Sammi. Ayisha made accusations during a recent interview that Sammini became "ungrateful" after he met a man identified as Tony, who she deems negatively affected the artiste.
Ayisha Modi, popularly known as "She Loves Stonebwoy," is known for her strong opinions and vocal support for artists she has worked with. Speaking passionately, she recounted her early efforts to support Samini during his formative years in the music industry. According to her, she invested heavily in his career when few believed in his potential. Ayisha testified that she provided financial backing, endorsement promotional, and moral support to enable Samini to build his brand at a point when there was limited resources.
But as Ayisha opens up, everything went wrong after Samini became friends with Tony. She faulted Tony for influencing Samini and making them drift apart. "Before Tony came on the scene, Samini was like a brother to me. We trusted each other and focused on one goal — his success," she claimed. "But once he started keeping bad company with Tony, he completely transformed. He disregarded everyone who had assisted him since day one."
Ayisha went on to blame Tony for not only influencing Samini's behavior but also influencing decisions that made the artist turn against some of his largest die-hards. "I do not know how someone whom you have struggled with, cried for, and sacrificed for would just turn their back on you just because of someone else's influence," she wailed.
Although Ayisha did not provide exact details on what Tony allegedly did to precipitate the break-up, she suggested that there were quite a number of acts of betrayal and ingratitude. She explained that she was shocked by Samini's actions but opted instead to drift away from him rather than exchange blows in a public brawl at the time.
It is not the first time Ayisha Modi has gone public to express dissatisfaction at being betrayed by artists she has supported. She has had similar break-ups with other entertainers over the years, but her battle with Samini had seemed very emotive and personal. Fans who have followed their past were surprised at the revelation, as Ayisha had stayed mostly silent about Samini until now.
Interestingly, Samini has not as yet responded to Ayisha's latest claims. In earlier interviews, Samini had often praised those who supported him in his early days in the music industry, though also noting that he had to work incredibly hard in order to get where he is now. Whether or not he will respond to Ayisha's accusations directly is yet to be seen.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian entertainment scene is abuzz with discussions following Ayisha's statements. Some sympathize with her, arguing that it is common for rising stars to forget their roots once they achieve fame. Others caution against taking sides without hearing Samini’s version of events. Social media, as expected, is divided, with passionate arguments erupting between fans of both personalities.
The play also raises issues of broader concerns regarding loyalty, mentorship, and appreciation in Ghana's music industry. Some of the stakeholders have explained that such collapses normally arise from miscommunication and the lack of contracts during sponsoring upcoming artists. In the absence of contracts and set expectations, miscommunications and feelings of betrayal are likely to emerge.
To date, Ayisha Modi remains with her own version of events, claiming that her endorsements of Samini were genuine and selfless. She maintains that although she feels disappointed, she is over it now and wishes him well even in light of the tumultuous relationship the two share.
Whether this will trigger a reconciliation or further deepen the divide is uncertain. But one thing is sure: Ayisha Modi's revelation has reminded fans once again that the music world, as glamorous as it may seem on the outside, can have complex and painful personal stories behind closed doors.
