Asante Kotoko have finally snapped their five-match winless streak and, under the guidance of their new head coach, have secured another victory. The only goal of the match was scored by Kwame Poku who had gone in a goal drought since his goal against FC Samartex in the western region where Kotoko picked up a point from. The goal came as early as the 24th minute when he beautifully exchanged passes with the agile Baba Yahaya outside the 18 yard box This win pushes Asante Kotoko to 50 points, positioning them just behind Bibiani Goldstars, Nations FC and Kpando Hearts Of Lions league log. But at the moment if they're serious about winning the Ghana Premier league the title, they will have to really do more. The new coach Abdul Karim Zito has brought a fresh vibe and energy to the team. He chose not to start most of the regular players in this match, likely to make a bold statement. He also gave chance to the youth team's top scorer to enjoy some of the game even though the margin was just a goal to nil. This shows his dedication in continuing what was started by the past head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum.  Still tied with Hearts Of Lions and and point behind Nations football club and also 6 points behind Goldstars who lost to Vision football club in Tema. The race still looks open as the porcupines would now go away to both Accra Hearts Of Oak and also the current league leaders far away in Bibiani. It's now a moment of being perfect in the last few matches. Also know that they have a big game in Tarkwa against Berekum Chelsea for the semis of this year's MTN FA cup.
