The Bible Is Not Just a Book, but an Inspiration
As we enter a new month, we’re reminded of the tough times we’ve faced—and continue to face—not just as human beings, but as Nigerians born, bred, and living in Nigeria.
Most people are not truly living; they are simply surviving. Yet, in times as harsh as these, we must seek refuge in the Word of God. We suffer not only because the times are hard, but also because we’ve failed to demand accountability from those in power. Even the Bible warns us:
“Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!”
– Ecclesiastes 10:16 (KJV)
Still, God’s Word offers us strength. Here are 5 Bible verses to guide and uplift you as you face the unique challenges of surviving in today’s Nigeria:
1. God Is With You – Isaiah 41:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
– KJV
The Lord reminds us that He is with us. His promise to strengthen and uphold us still stands—He cannot lie.
2. He Heals the Brokenhearted – Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
– KJV
If you're hurting, know that God is near. He is not far from your pain.
3. All Things Will Work for Good – Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
– KJV
Since we were created in His image and for His purpose, even our struggles will serve a divine plan. As the song goes: “All things are working for my good—it’s intentional.”
4. Peace Beyond Understanding – Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
– KJV
God’s peace can calm your heart—even when your situation doesn’t make sense.
5. Pressed but Not Crushed – 2 Corinthians 4:8
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair.”
– KJV
Yes, trouble surrounds us. But it will not defeat us—because God holds us up.
In Conclusion:
Let God’s Word be your strength in these challenging times. His promises endure forever.
May this new month bring you peace, direction, and the courage to keep going.
