Arsenal Confident of Historic Comeback Against PSG in Champions League Semi-Final
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has expressed strong belief that the team can overturn their 1-0 deficit against Paris Saint-Germain and book a place in the UEFA Champions League final. Speaking ahead of the second leg in Paris, Rice emphasized that Arsenal are fully prepared and determined to make history.
“We’ve come here to win,” Rice said during the pre-match press conference. “We want to send a strong message and reach the final. We’re ready to give everything.”
PSG currently have the edge thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s first-leg goal at the Emirates Stadium. Despite the narrow defeat, both Rice and manager Mikel Arteta remain confident in the team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
“This could be one of the biggest nights in Arsenal’s history,” Rice added. “We need courage and belief. If we play at our best, nothing can stop us.”
Arsenal previously stunned European champions Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, winning 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu and advancing 5-1 on aggregate. That experience, according to Rice, has given the team the confidence to thrive under pressure.
“People questioned if we could handle the atmosphere at the Bernabeu, but we responded brilliantly,” he said. “We’ve shown we can deal with the big moments, and tomorrow is another chance to prove that.”
Arteta echoed his midfielder’s confidence, stressing that Arsenal are just one win away from reaching their first Champions League final since 2006.
“This is a massive opportunity,” Arteta said. “To reach the final in such a beautiful city, against such a great team, would be historic. We’re here to make that happen.”
Arteta also revealed that Jurrien Timber's fitness would be assessed before kickoff, while Riccardo Calafiori, who has been sidelined since March, is available for selection.
Meanwhile, PSG’s manager Luis Enrique confirmed that Dembele, who scored in the first leg, is fit despite a recent hamstring concern.
Arsenal must now produce a special performance in Paris to advance to the final in Munich later this month, and Rice believes someone in the squad is ready to deliver that defining moment.
