Arsenal Has Successfully Bottled another trophy this Season Once Again

The Champions League was Arsenal’s only real chance at silverware this season—and they blew it.

"We defeated Madrid FC!" they bragged. But when it truly mattered, Arsenal fell short.

They lost 3-1 on aggregate at the Parc des Princes, sending Paris Saint-Germain through to Munich. Fabián Ruiz opened the scoring in the 27th minute, making it 2-0 on aggregate after PSG had already won the first leg 1-0 at the Emirates.

Achraf Hakimi added another in the 72nd minute before Bukayo Saka pulled one back in the 76th. But, of course, it was too little, too late.

Even in the Premier League, it’s the same old story: rinse and repeat. Finish second, finish second—now they might even bottle second place to Manchester City.

Let’s give credit where it’s due, though. In the PSG match, goalkeeping made a difference. Donnarumma was solid for PSG, and even David Raya had some good moments for Arsenal. But for a team chasing a comeback and their only chance at a trophy this season, Arsenal played like absolute rubbish.

Now, PSG are heading to Munich to face Inter Milan, while Arsenal have already started with the classic, “We’ll be back.”

Come on—when will you really be back?

If not for Arsenal consistently finishing second in the EPL, we would’ve grouped them with Spurs. At least Spurs are still in the race for the Europa League.

This loss tells you that Arsenal doesn’t just need a striker—they need one with good aerial ability. But knowing Arsenal, they’ll probably head into the summer window and sign another Chelsea reject. Honestly, does Chelsea have something on them?

Maybe Patrice Evra was right when he said:

"Arsenal is just like Netflix—they’re always saying ‘next season.’"

And he wasn’t wrong. Injuries or not, even with a fit squad, Arteta bottled the Premier League last season.

If Arsenal ever wants to win a major trophy, they need to go all out in the transfer market—get serious signings, and most importantly get a proper striker just like Evra suggested.
