Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei on the game against the Central African Republic: “We need a good result to guarantee qualification. This is like a final for us, and we are treating it with the urgency it deserves." We can’t afford to be complacent against a hard-working side like Central African Republic. They’ve shown they can hurt teams, so we must remain focused and composed.” The team is now placed in the second position, behind Dr Congo who also have 4 points but just leading them on goal difference. As he has said, they would have to get at least points from this game. Third place Senegal has on 2 point so a draw takes them to the quarter final.
Students urged to Combine Design with Practical Skills. The Dean of the Faculty of Built and Natural Environment of Takoradi Technical University, Prof. Gladys Ama Quartey, has encouraged staff and students not to focus solely on design, but also develop hands-on skills that will help bring their creative ideas to life. She gave this advice during a seminar organized by the Department of Interior Design and Technology of the Faculty, which aimed to educate students and staff on “The Art and Science of Interior Design” and how it can be applied to make a meaningful impact in today’s world.Prof. Quartey, while expressing gratitude to the students stressed the importance of moving beyond conceptual design and embracing practical skills that add value and make graduates more competitive in the job market. You have come to a Technical University where we believe in hands-on work, using your hands to create something. There are so many things you can do in the interior design space. Use the opportunity. If you only identify as an interior designer without practical skills, it won’t yield much benefit. Sometimes when you understand how something is made, you appreciate it more. So let’s add hands-on experience to our interior design practice,” she advised.
