Sammy Gyamfi misconducted himself, he should go back for the money or face my wrath – Nyonkonpa Daniels
Madam Nyonkonpa Daniels, Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly criticised the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, for handing over a significant sum of money to self-proclaimed evangelist Mama Pat, popularly known as Agradaa.
Madam Daniels expressed deep disappointment in Gyamfi’s actions, describing them as misconduct that has handed the opposition fresh grounds to attack the president. She highlighted that Agradaa’s controversial history—especially her past curses directed at voters of former President Mahama—makes the decision even more questionable.
She stressed that Agradaa is undeserving of such financial support and called on Sammy Gyamfi to retrieve the money immediately. According to her, many dedicated NDC members across various constituencies are facing financial hardships despite their sacrifices for the party, and supporting them would have been a wiser and more strategic move.
Madam Daniels warned that if the funds are not recovered, she would be compelled to take further action against Gyamfi. She emphasized the potential damage this act could cause, both within the party and in the eyes of the public.
“I am deeply dismayed by Sammy Gyamfi’s actions. Providing financial support to Agradaa, given her history and comments about former President Mahama, is highly inappropriate. Numerous NDC members in need could have benefitted from that support—some could have even used it to start businesses. The optics of this gesture are troubling. I urge him to retrieve the funds and ensure they are returned publicly. Failure to do so will force me to act decisively.”
