Despite Barcelona winning La Liga, Real Madrid still secured a win against Sevilla.
The game against Sevilla was, however, full of drama as two red cards were shown to Sevilla players, reducing them to nine men on the pitch.
The first red card was shown to Balde in the 12th minute for a last-man foul. However, despite Sevilla being down to 10 men, Madrid still struggled, showing they had lost all fight, as there was really nothing to play for since they had already secured Champions League qualification for next season anyway.
It was actually beyond embarrassing that Madrid struggled against 10 men on the pitch in the first 45 minutes. Three minutes into the second half, Isaac was shown a red card for a hard tackle on Tchouaméni. Sevilla were now down to nine men, yet Real Madrid still could not grab a goal.
Mbappé then opened the scoring for Real Madrid following an assist by Luka Modrić. Mbappé's goal means he is set to win the Pichichi (La Liga top scorer) in his first season at Real Madrid with 29 La Liga goals and one more match to go, while his closest rival, Barcelona's Lewandowski, has 25 goals.
Not only that, Mbappé might also be set to win the European Golden Boot over Viktor Gyökeres if he scores another goal.
Jude Bellingham added a second goal in the 87th minute assisted by Castilla kid Gonzalo Garcia.
However, this will be Bellingham’s last La Liga goal of the season, as he will miss the final match after receiving a yellow card that got him suspended. Hopefully, he will have his shoulder surgery during this period, as he has been playing in pain for the past year.
It’s also another season of goodbyes, as this was the last match he would play under Carlo Ancelotti, who will say goodbye to Real Madrid in the final La Liga match before a new coach takes over for the Club World Cup, which starts on June 14.
