Second Man Charged Over Fires Linked to PM's Former Properties.

A second man has been charged in connection with suspected arson targeting two properties and a vehicle linked to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.

Stanislav Carpiuc, a 26-year-old Romanian national from Romford, faces charges of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life. He was arrested on 17 May at Luton Airport and is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning.

The charges stem from three separate incidents in north London:

A vehicle fire on the street in Kentish Town where Sir Keir previously lived,

A fire at the prime minister’s former private residence on the same street,

And a fire at another address in north-west London where he once resided.

According to police, Mr Carpiuc is accused of conspiring with Roman Lavrynovych and others to damage property by fire, with the intent to endanger life or being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.

Mr Lavrynovych, from Sydenham, appeared in court last Friday facing three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. He denied the charges during a police interview and has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on 6 June.

Meanwhile, a third suspect—a 34-year-old man—was arrested on Monday in Chelsea on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

The incidents occurred over a span of five days in May:

On 8 May, a car previously owned by Sir Keir and later sold to a neighbour caught fire on his former Kentish Town street.

On 11 May, firefighters responded to a small blaze at the front door of a house converted into flats in nearby Islington, also linked to the prime minister.

In the early hours of 12 May, police were alerted to a fire at Sir Keir’s former home, where damage was caused to the entrance. No injuries were reported. The BBC understands the property is currently rented by the prime minister’s sister-in-law.
