Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Hansi Flick are set to sign new contracts at Barcelona, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Flick's deal, which was originally due to expire in June 2026, will now be extended until June 2027, as the German is happy with the club. His contract announcement is expected to take place soon.
Raphinha is also expected to extend his contract, which currently runs until June 2027, by one more year, taking it to June 2028.
As for Yamal, the 17-year-old would become a free agent in July on his 18th birthday, in line with FIFA rules. However, Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, has already confirmed that the club has agreed on all contract details with the star. According to reports, Yamal will sign a five-year deal, committing to the club until 2030.
Flick joined Barcelona to replace former coach and club legend Xavi Hernández and has impressed so far, especially with victories against Real Madrid in this year’s El Clásicos. He has also been instrumental in the revival of key players like Raphinha.
Raphinha has been a standout player this year, unlike last season when he was on Barcelona's list of potential departures. The player joined the club from Leeds in July 2022 but initially failed to meet expectations and was expected to leave at the start of the season. However, according to the player, Flick played a major role in convincing him to stay at the club.He has contributed to 34 goals and 22 assists in 55 games played for Barca this season.
As for Yamal, he was handed his debut by Xavi at age 15, playing just a few minutes during Barcelona's 2023 La Liga triumph. However, due to the club’s financial situation, he and other La Masia graduates have become central to Barcelona’s project. Yamal has played a major role in the club’s successful season and now has two La Liga titles to his name at just 17—though he only significantly contributed to the most recent one.
