The man in question here is not new to officiating an Asante Kotoko match. Again, Article 35(9) (a)-(d) mandates the Disciplinary Committee to consider the Statement and/or Evidence of the parties and deliver judgement immediately. Similarly, Article 35(9)(c) provides that the committee shall consider the merits of the case and deliver its decision in any given case even if a party fails, neglects or refuses to file a Statement of Defence within the stipulated time.

The Committee was informed by Tarkwa United FC from its Statement of Case that Fijai United Soccer Academy fielded an unqualified player. It stated that Samuel Appiah (No.11), was not a duly registered player of Fijai United Soccer Academy at the time of the match. Tarkwa United FC attached copies of the player’s photograph as well as a copy of the team sheet of Fijai United Soccer Academy as evidence in support of its case.In its defence, Fijai United Soccer Academy stated that Samuel Appiah, the player in question was duly registered before the commencement of the 2024/25 league and provided his FIFA and GFA IDs. It went on to state that the protest was filed out of time and urged the Committee to dismiss the protest as being frivolous.
