Napoli wins the 2024/2025 Serie A on the last game day. The Serie A title has been one talked about for the ages. First, it was Napoli under Antonio Conte who was at the top of the Serie A table. Then Atalanta, under the command of their Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, who scored a brace to secure the win against Napoli.
However, Atalanta's performance dropped once they lost Lookman to injury in the second half of the season.
Napoli also dropped form after losing Kvara in the second half of the season (January)—another big blow after Osimhen went on loan to Galatasaray. Recall that both Kvara and Osimhen were the stars of their last title-winning campaign. Inter Milan then took over; however, despite that, Antonio Conte got to work.
Inter were ahead by three points in the last few games; however, they lost two games in a row, which allowed Napoli to take advantage of the situation. Inter did have the opportunity to get back in front after Napoli drew with Parma on the penultimate game, but they also drew to Lazio due to a last-minute penalty awarded that allowed them to equalize. Not only that, Inter defender Bastoni also missed a huge chance for Inter. However, Inter are in the Champions League finals and have the chance to win a trophy this season.
Napoli finished with 82 points, while Inter finished with 81 points. Napoli secured the Scudetto due to a 2-0 win over Cagliari with goals from a beautiful golazo from Scott McTominay and a solo goal from Lukaku.
No wonder McTominay won the Serie A MVP of the season. Antonio Conte has now won the Scudetto with three different clubs—Inter Milan, Juventus, and now Napoli. He has won trophies with all the clubs he has coached except Spurs. This title is Napoli’s second in three years, having recently won in the 2022/2023 season, ending their 33-year Serie A title drought.
