Florian Wirtz has agreed on personal terms with Liverpool
Florian Wirtz who plays as an attacking midfielder for Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen has caught an eye from the English giants, Liverpool. Arne Slot who joined Liverpool last year has made two signings in the likes of, Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Marmadasvilli.
He still went on to win the Premier League with these two signings, with Federico Chiesa not living up to expectations and Giorgi Marmadasvilli on loan at Valencia. As, the 2024/25 season is coming to an end, Liverpool wants to upgrade their attack and they want Florian Wirtz.
According to Fabrizio Romano;
"Florian Wirtz has total on personal terms with Liverpool as Bayer Leverkusen are also aware of his desire. The contract agreement is done after Wirtz gave clear preference to Liverpool over Bayern, decision made. Club to club talks already underway as revealed earlier as Liverpool are confident to get the deal done soon and not a long saga for the upcoming weeks."
Wirtz will have to compete against the likes of, Dominik Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliot, and Curtis Jones in the attacking area as a number eight. Szoboszlai who is Liverpool’s current attacking midfielder and also a priority, might partner Wirtz in matchdays.
Liverpool who are known for their attacking and also counter attacks, with Wirtz joining they will still be favorites to win the English Premier League. Bayern Munich who are the german giants wanted to sign Florian Wirtz but they lack the necessary requirements from the player.
Manchester City also withdraw from this transfer after saying, this transfer might take them to spend for over £200m. Wirtz is currently the best attacking midfielder in the German Bundesliga and he is just 22years.
