Apam SHS Robotics Club Shines at Robofest 2025: From Accra to Michigan, a Journey of Innovation
In a remarkable display of talent and determination, the Apam Senior High School Robotics Club, known as Apass_Robotics, has made Ghana proud by securing second place in the Fastest Time Trial category at the Robofest 2025 World Championship held at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan, USA.
From National Qualifiers to the World Stage
The journey began at the Robofest 2025 National Qualifiers in Accra, organized by the Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation (GRAF). Competing against top schools from across the country — including Prempeh College, Our Lady of Grace (OLAG), and Right to Dream Academy ,Apass_Robotics demonstrated exceptional creativity, engineering skills, and strategic thinking. Their outstanding performance earned them the honor of representing Ghana on the global stage.

The winning team consists of passionate and hardworking students:

Joseph Nyameyie Acquah and Gabriel Nkumyiem Acquah
Guided by their dedicated coach, Mr. Alfred Acquah, and the trainer, Mr. Jeffrey Tottimeh who put in an ocean of hard work and dedication , the team engaged in months of preparation. Through countless trials, coding sprints, and mechanical optimizations, they perfected their robot designs and strategies.
Triumph in Michigan
At the Robofest 2025 World Championship, Apass_Robotics represented Ghana proudly among teams from over 20 countries. They competed in two major categories:
BottleSumo Classic
BottleSumo Unlimited
Their performance was exceptional, but it was in the Fastest Time Trial challenge where they made global headlines by securing 2nd place worldwide — a historic milestone for Ghanaian robotics.
