Everyone is emotional, says Kremlin, after Trump calls Putin 'absolutely crazy'.
Volodymyr Zelensky remains cautious about straining relations with his U.S. counterpart—partly because he still hopes to secure American military aid in the future.
With Russia now routinely launching hundreds of drones, Ukraine is urgently seeking additional U.S.-made air defence systems to intercept them. It also needs more ammunition for the systems it already has.
'Tapping me along': How Trump lost patience with Putin

Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed he enjoys a strong relationship with Vladimir Putin—a sentiment he reiterated in the opening line of a Truth Social post on Sunday.
However, the tone shifted quickly. In the very next sentence, Trump described Putin as having gone "absolutely CRAZY!"
It wasn’t the first time the former U.S. president publicly scolded the Russian leader. Here are some other notable moments:
13 March:
Following talks in Saudi Arabia between U.S. and Ukrainian officials, where both sides agreed to pursue a 30-day truce, Trump urged Putin to “do the right thing” or risk “a very disappointing moment for the world.”
30 March:
Putin dismissed the truce proposal, questioning Zelensky’s legitimacy. In response, Trump expressed being “very angry” and “pissed off.” In a phone interview with NBC, he also warned of secondary tariffs on “all oil coming out of Russia” if the ceasefire failed due to Russian actions.
24 April:
After a Russian missile strike killed 12 people in Kyiv, Trump issued one of his sternest warnings:
“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5,000 soldiers a week are dying. Let’s get the Peace Deal DONE!”
26 April:
Trump followed up days later: “There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns.”
He added: “It makes me think that maybe he doesn't want to stop the war—he’s just tapping me along—and needs to be dealt with differently, through 'Banking' or 'Secondary Sanctions?' Too many people are dying!!!”
8 May:
Trump threatened “further sanctions” if Russia refused a ceasefire.
25 May:
After a weekend of intense Russian aerial assaults on Ukraine, Trump again called Putin “absolutely crazy” and asked, “What the hell happened to him?”
