Despite their opponent's low league standings, Hearts of Oak's Public Relations Officer, Kwame Opare Addo, believes the players had to give it their best to defeat the Accra Lions.
With goals from Hamza Issah, Kwesi Asmah, and Enock Asubonteng, Hearts of Oak prevailed 3-1. Accra Lions' lone goal came from Lawrence Ntim.
According to Peace FM, "We are all playing football; it is not about doing favors or being friendly off the field. Sure, we all get along well, but when we step onto the field, you have to go there and defend your badge."
"As the Accra Lions have always been a top team playing against Hearts of Oak, we prepared properly, so make sure you work for those three points."
"Our hard work allowed us to defeat them, even though their current position does not reflect the type of football being played."
