In the Ghana Premier League's Matchweek 33 match, Legon Cities will host Hearts of Oak at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday. Though already relegated, the hosts will compete for pride, while Hearts of Oak want to end the season well because they still have a chance to finish in the top four.

For both teams, this match is the penultimate game of the campaign. Legon Cities has a somewhat stronger recent head-to-head record versus Hearts of Oak, winning two and drawing three of their last six meetings, despite their current performance. The lone victory the Phobians had throughout that time was a 1-0 victory in Accra in January of this year.

Legon Cities' season has been difficult; in 32 games, they have only won seven, drawn four, and lost twenty-one. With an average of 0.69 goals scored and 1.47 goals given up per game, they have scored 22 goals and given up 47. They have lost five straight going into this weekend, which is a sign of their recent bad play.

In contrast, Hearts of Oak have improved in the closing stages, defeating Berekum Chelsea and Accra Lions in their past two games. With a strong defensive record of just 18 goals allowed, the Phobians have won 14, drawn 10, and lost eight games so far this season.

Legon Cities, currently in 17th place with 25 points, will try to exit the top flight with some dignity, while Hearts of Oak, currently in fifth place with 52 points, will strive for maximum points to ensure a great finish.
