Kwame Opare Addo, the public relations officer for Hearts of Oak, has stated that his team is prepared to play Legon Cities, who have already been demoted, in their penultimate league match on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak will not take the game lightly, Opare Addo emphasized, despite Legon Cities' relegation position.

"Hopefully, on Sunday at the Legon Sports Stadium, we will play Legon Cities. They are pretty much out of the tournament, but again, it does not give you the bragging rights of strength to beat them," Opare Addo remarked in an interview with Peace FM. He underlined that Hearts will put in a lot of effort to win and preserve the club's reputation.

With little to lose, Legon Cities will probably arrive ready and driven to finish their season strong, according to Opare Addo.

He went on to say, "They have already been demoted; they have nothing to lose. They will arrive ready and driven to leave with a positive influence."

The University of Ghana Stadium will host the game between Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities on Sunday. When they play their last league game, Hearts of Oak will try their hardest to win.

During the Unity Cup victory over Trinidad and Tobago, Gideon Mensah dons the Black Stars captain's armband for the first time.

During Ghana's decisive 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the third-place 2025 Unity Cup match at the G-Tech Stadium in Brentford, West London, defender Gideon Mensah of Ghana and Auxerre donned the Black Stars captain's armband for the first time in his international career.

The second half saw the substitution of Jordan Ayew, who had scored the first goal and led the team from kickoff, and Mensah given the armband.

After several veteran players, including Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Alexander Djiku, and others, were unable to attend the event because of injury or rest, the 26-year-old took over as team captain.

The accomplishment highlights Mensah's developing role in the national squad since his debut in 2019 and is a pivotal point in his international career.

Ayew scored the first goal early on, and the Black Stars dominated from the beginning to the end.

Before halftime, Ghana led 3-0 thanks to goals from debuts from Mohammed Fuseini and Razak Simpson.

After taking advantage of a goalkeeping mistake, Lawrence Agyekum added a fourth goal in the second half.

Mensah successfully led the defense, assisting in keeping a clean sheet as Ghana triumphantly concluded the competition.

As Ghana attempts to rebuild with a mix of youth and experience under coach Otto Addo, his calm performance as captain further demonstrated his leadership abilities.
