According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Al Nassr plans to extend Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, which is set to expire on June 30, 2025.
Ronaldo has been at Al Nassr for three years and has scored 99 goals for the club. However, he has yet to win a major trophy with the team. The only trophy he managed to secure is widely regarded as a friendly not a major trophy.
This has led critics to question whether Ronaldo is truly the solution to Al Nassr’s trophy drought—or part of the problem. Despite being a world-class player in his younger days and widely known as one of the best in football history, some believe age may now be a limiting factor. However, winning two golden boots across two seasons and scoring 99 goals and 19 assists in three years hardly suggests he is the problem.
After Al Nassr’s last match of the season, Ronaldo posted a cryptic message, stating that the "chapter was over."
Some interpreted this as a farewell message, with reports emerging that he is interested in joining Al Hilal or Botafogo to participate in the Club World Cup.
Despite these reports, Ronaldo has neither confirmed nor denied anything, while Al Nassr is still hopeful of keeping him with a new contract offer.
The club sees him as a key figure in their rebuild, especially after signing John Durán. They are also targeting players like Luis Díaz, David Hancko, midfielders, and other world-class talents in their pursuit of the
Saudi Pro League title which they haven't won in the three seasons with Ronaldo
While some believe it would be great to see Ronaldo in the Club World Cup—some Real Madrid fans even wish Florentino Pérez would bring him back on a short-term deal on one last dance for the iconic No 7—Al Nassr is determined to keep him.
What do you think? Will Ronaldo stay at Al Nassr?
