Bruno Fernandes has decided to stay at Manchester United despite a mega offer from Al Hilal worth £200 million. According to reports by Ben Jacobs and Fabrizio Romano, Bruno made the decision after holding talks with his family.
Recall that despite Al Hilal's interest and an offer of about £85 million to sign their captain, Manchester United remained adamant about not letting go of the man I would call their savior.
Bruno Fernandes quite literally saved Manchester United from relegation this season. In fact, the 31-year-old midfielder has been carrying the team. However, despite his immense talent, he has chosen to remain at Manchester United — a decision some consider a waste of his potential, especially as United are not expected to play European football next season.
Not only has he failed to win anything truly major by the club’s standards — with only the Carabao Cup and FA Cup under his belt — but things have also gone downhill at the club in recent years.
Many are questioning his decision to stay, particularly as he still has a lot to offer at the highest level. If he can’t win trophies, some argue he should at least "secure the bag." Besides, the moment he is no longer at his peak, United would not hesitate to push him out. Also, many have advised Manchester United to take the money and plan a squad rebuild with it.
Some have advised Bruno to move to another European club to chase trophies if he isn’t ready to move to Saudi Arabia yet. However, the Portuguese star has chosen to stay at United. Hopefully, he wins something soon — because he truly deserves it.
As for Al Hilal, the club is now looking at several options, including Theo Hernandez and Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, as they hope to secure major signings in their bid to win the Club World Cup.
What do you think about Bruno deciding to stay at Manchester United?
