Hubert Gyau, a promising midfielder from Berekum Chelsea, is allegedly close to joining Asante Kotoko on a four-year contract.

According to reports, the 20-year-old signed a contract on Tuesday that will keep him with the Kumasi-based club until June 2029 after completing his medical exam earlier this week.

According to sources, the transaction is part of Kotoko's long-term rebuilding strategy ahead of the 2025–2026 Ghana Premier League season, while formal confirmation from the club is still coming.

Gyau's poise, vigor, and midfield ball-winning skills made an impression during the recently concluded season. Other Premier League teams are said to have expressed interest in him because of his steady performances, but Kotoko is thought to have moved quickly to sign him.

If the deal goes through, Gyau would be Kotoko's first big acquisition of the transfer window as they get ready for the upcoming campaign with a new technical setup.

After the transaction is finalized, he is expected to report to the team for preseason.

Before the Club World Cup campaign, Chelsea is considering a transfer for Mohammed Kudus of Ghana.

According to reports, Chelsea is one of the teams with a keen interest in acquiring Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

With an £85 million release clause in his contract, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder made a big impression in his first season with the Hammers two seasons ago. Chelsea is reportedly keeping a careful eye on the issue as that condition goes into effect for Premier League clubs during the first ten days of July.

Europe has taken notice of Kudus' steady play for both club and country. Chelsea may be in a strong position to exercise the option when the transfer window opens, though, given their increased interest.

In preparation for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where they will play Los Angeles FC on June 16 and then Flamengo and ES Tunis, the Blues are trying to bolster their squad.

A possible transfer to Stamford Bridge would be a significant turning point in Kudus' career and further emphasize his ascent as one of Ghana's most promising football exports, according to Ghanaian supporters.
