Asante Kotoko lost 3-1 to newcomers Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on the last day of the Ghana Premier League season, ruining their hopes of finishing on a high note.

Emmanuel Antwi gave the Porcupines the lead in the 38th minute with a deflected shot that entered the bottom corner.

However, the lead did not last long. Within two minutes, replacement Edmond Asante rushed home from close range to give Vision the response.

For a large portion of the second half, Kotoko appeared to be in second place. Frank Duku punished their carelessness by scoring in the 81st minute to give the home team the lead.

In stoppage time, Duku came back to score his second goal of the afternoon, sealing Kotoko's first loss under Karim Zito as interim manager.

Due to the defeat, Kotoko is now in fifth place, distant from the top spot. The FA Cup final against Golden Kicks on June 15 is their only chance to save their lives.

With 45 points, Vision FC finishes its first season in the top division in 11th place.

After the walk-off incident, Nations FC faces a top-four exit due to a GFA disciplinary investigation.

After a contentious walk-off during their penultimate league match against Basake Holy Stars, Nations FC's spot in the top four of the Ghana Premier League is in jeopardy as they await a significant disciplinary decision from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

According to GHANAsoccernet.com, if the Disciplinary Committee rules against the Abrankese-based team in a case that is anticipated to be determined on Monday, June 9, 2025, they may fall out of the top four.

In the season's second-to-last match, Basake Holy Stars was ahead 1-0 thanks to a penalty kick when the tragic incident took place. When Holy Stars received a second penalty, tensions increased and a brawl broke out on the field. After security officers had to step in due to escalating tensions, Nations FC immediately left the field on club owner Dr. Kwame Kyei's orders.

Following the game's abandonment, Basake Holy Stars formally protested to the GFA, requesting three points and three goals. Nations FC will lose three points if the committee grants their plea, which could significantly alter the final league rankings.

With 60 points at the end of their campaign, Nations FC finished in second place. But they would fall to fifth place with a three-point deduction, so missing out on the coveted top four.

Asante Kotoko would rise to third place, Heart of Lions would advance to second, and Hearts of Oak, anxiously anticipating the result, would jump up to fourth.

An incident that would cost Nations FC their Premier League status would ruin their stellar season; therefore, such a decision would be devastating.
