Gold Stars FC concluded a memorable season for the Miners on Sunday by winning the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League title. But with legal actions threatening to change the final league rankings, the race for the remaining top four slots is still up in the air.

Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak are currently on track to join Gold Stars in the top four, contingent on the outcome of a significant disciplinary hearing involving Nations FC.

Investigated for skipping their penultimate league game against recently promoted Basake Holy Stars, Nations FC finished the season in second place with 60 points. Nations FC was ordered off the field by club owner Dr. Kwame Kyei after the game ended in controversy after Holy Stars was given a second penalty.

Since then, the Basake Holy Stars have filed an official complaint, asking the Football Association to give them three goals and three points in compliance with league rules. Nations FC would lose three points, falling to 57 points and fifth position if the Disciplinary Committee upholds the appeal, a decision that is anticipated on Monday, June 9.

In that case, Nations FC would be eliminated from the top four bracket as Heart of Lions would move up to second place, Asante Kotoko would take third, and Hearts of Oak, who are now tied with Kotoko on 58 points but behind on head-to-head record, would jump up to fourth place.

A single, unfortunate verdict would overshadow Nations FC's amazing performance, and such a ruling would be a huge blow to the team. However, Hearts of Oak may receive a late but welcome boost from the ruling, which might save a season that has seen its share of highs and lows.

At Fosu Gyeabour, apostles preached, and Bechem gave the Amen.

On the last day of the season, Bechem United defeated Young Apostles 1-0 at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, capping off a close but spirited 2024–25 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Young Apostles' final top-flight match in their maiden season was a fiercely contested Bono and Ahafo rivalry, and defender Baba Abdulai's goal in the second half gave the Hunters the victory.

The rivalry between the neighbors in the area and the season's dramatic conclusion created a tense environment before the match.

Bechem United got off to a better start because they were keen to end their campaign on a high note. Their efforts paid off in the 62nd minute when Abdulai scored a penalty kick for the Hunter, beating Apostles goalkeeper Zulka Masawudu, who was extremely confident.

Bechem keeper Benjamin Asiedu had to make a quick save late in the second half as Young Apostles pressed for an equalizer, with its midfielder troops Maftaw and Prempeh coming close.

In front of a grateful home crowd, however, Bechem United remained steadfast, playing tough defense to maintain their lead and earn all three points.
