Abdul Karim Zito, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has called his team's 3-1 loss to Vision FC a much-needed wake-up call before their pivotal matchup with Division One team Golden Kicks in the MTN FA Cup final.

The 2024–25 Ghana Premier League concluded in a shocking defeat for the Porcupine Warriors at the Nii Adjei Okraku II Complex in Tema.

With 58 points at the end of the season, tied with rivals Hearts of Oak, Kotoko secures a spot in the top four despite the loss.

The outcome of the postponed match between Nations FC and Basake Holy Stars now determines the final league standings.

But instead of complaining about the outcome, Zito decided to highlight the result. Following the game, he said:

"This game's upside is that it serves as a wake-up call for the FA Cup finals." I saw it coming before the Medeama game, so I am going to play. I am not very concerned because, in the end, my victory will not earn me the title, but it will put me in a better position."

I am glad to see it now since it will help me reorganize my lists for the finals and serves as a wake-up call. On the plus side, it will benefit me. I therefore informed them that I would use this match to get ready for the championship match.

Now, Kotoko is preparing for the MTN FA Cup final, which will take place at the Legon Sports Stadium on June 15 in the hopes of taking home a trophy before the 2024–25 football season ends.

Stephen Amankona scored 15 goals to earn the Golden Boot for the second time in a row.

Berekum Stephen Amankona, a striker with Chelsea, finished the 2024–25 season as the league's top scorer with 15 goals, earning him the Ghana Premier League Golden Boot once again.

The 25-year-old forward defeated Albert Amoah of Asante Kotoko, who finished the season with 12 goals. Despite falling four goals shy of his total from the previous season, when he won the title with 19 goals, Amankonah's steadiness in front of goal once again was noteworthy.

Amankonah has become the league's top scorer for the second time in two seasons, solidifying his status as one of the most dependable forwards in Nigerian football. The accomplishment this year continues an outstanding four-season run of form.

With two Golden Boots under his belt, Amankonah is certain to draw a lot of interest during the transfer season. According to reports, clubs both inside and outside of Ghana are keeping a careful eye on his condition, preparing for what might be a big move.

After yet another successful season in Berekum Chelsea colors, the prolific scorer is currently enjoying yet another well-deserved individual honor.
