Karim Zito, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, acknowledged that Vision FC deserved their 3-1 victory in the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season finale.
Speaking at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex following the game, Zito praised the caliber of the opposition and said the outcome was a good prelude to the MTN FA Cup final.
"The bright aspect of this game is that it is a wake-up call to the finals," he told reporters, adding that Vision FC played well and deserved to win.
Zito suffered his first defeat since becoming the Porcupines' new head coach. Even though Emmanuel Antwi gave Kotoko the lead in the 38th minute, Edmond Asante's close-range goal two minutes later gave them the lead back.
Then, late in the game, Frank Duku scored twice to give Vision all three points and put Kotoko in fifth position at the end of their league campaign.
But Zito remained composed in his evaluation. "I anticipated this loss before the Medeama match. Since it will help me reorganize my boys for the final, I am not very concerned," he continued.
With continental participation on the line, Kotoko will now focus on their matchup with Division One team Golden Kick in the FA Cup final on June 15.
