Despite not being in the top four, Hearts of Oak's head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, believes his squad was the best in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League season.
At the Accra Sports Stadium, the Phobians defeated champions Samartex 1-0 to end their campaign with their fourth consecutive victory and tie rivals Asante Kotoko for 58 points.
Due to a head-to-head disadvantage, they were unable to place in the top four, and Bibiani GoldStars emerged victorious.
After the game, Ouattara spoke and commended his team's growth and tenacity.
He claimed that because Hearts of Oak overcame adversity, they were the best team in the 2024–2025 season. We finished with 58 points, only five points less than the winners. We had unidentified players at the beginning of the season. They are stars now.
Given rumors that former Kotoko manager Maxwell Konadu is expected to succeed him, Ouattara's future is still up in the air.
Hearts hopes to fight for the championship next season, but they might not have the Ivorian who helped them finish strongly after a rough start.

Bibiani GoldStars are in favor of giving Vincent Atinga a chance at the Black Stars.
The Black Stars should include defender Vincent Atinga, according to Kwesi Adu, CEO of Bibiani GoldStars.
He made these comments after the former Hearts of Oak center defender led the team to their first-ever Premier League championship.
Atinga won the Premier League championship with Medeama SC before joining GoldStars. With two different clubs, he has now become the first player to win the Premier League.
According to Kwesi Adu, Atinga deserves to be considered for a senior national team call-up because of his outstanding performances.
The Black Stars should bring up Vincent Atinga, in my opinion. With the national team, he has won. He told Asempa FM, "He has done well with GoldStars, and he has won with Medeama.
He went on to say, "I think he should be given the chance and opportunity at the Black Stars since not every player can achieve this."
The team's head coach, Frimpong Manso, supported Atinga, Kelvin Oppong, and goalie Emmanuel Kobi as well.
"Players like Kelvin Oppong and goalie Emmanuel Kobi should also be considered for the Black Stars call-up, so it should not just be Vincent Atinga."
After winning the Ghana Premier League, Bibiani GoldStars will play for Ghana in the 2025–2026 CAF Champions League.
