KONADU YIADOM WINS MAN OF THE MATCH AND SCORES THE GAME-WINNING GOAL TO ROUND UP THE SEASON IN STYLE

At the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, defender Konadu Yiadom led Hearts of Oak to a crucial 1-0 victory over FC Samartex 1996 in a thrilling finale to the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season.

The tall center-back, who is more well-known for his defensive skills, made history on the scoreboard with a game-winning goal that gave the Phobians all three points.

In addition to winning the match, Yiadom's dominant presence won him the title of Man of the Match, completing an exceptional individual effort.


He went above and beyond expectations in the final minutes of the season, displaying not just defensive stability but also leadership and poise under pressure from the final league game.



The appreciative defender reflected on the milestone on Facebook after the game:

"Winning Man of the Match and a GOAL to close out the season. I am really grateful to God. Always appreciative. Never forget that faith will triumph above all obstacles.

His thoughts reveal a great deal about the faith and inner strength that have propelled his path.

With a man who keeps shining when it counts most, this outcome was more than simply a victory for the Phobians; it was a glimmer of optimism.


The 24-year-old, who has made 18 league appearances with excellent performances, has been Hearts' finest center defender this season.

Tariq Lamptey, a defender for Ghana, has extended his Brighton contract.



The Premier League team has formally confirmed that Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey has signed a one-year contract extension, committing his immediate future to Brighton & Hove Albion. The dynamic right-back will remain with the Seagulls until the conclusion of the 2025–2026 campaign, according to the deal.

Since making his Albion debut in 2020, the 24-year-old defender has grown to be a vital member of the team because of his quick speed, defensive acumen, and offensive ability.

There had been rumors that he was leaving Brighton this summer, but the new contract puts an end to such rumors.

An official statement from the club verified:


"Defenseman Tariq Lamptey and Albion have reached an agreement to extend his contract by one year. Since making his Albion debut in 2020, the 24-year-old Ghanaian international has made 122 appearances, with 12 assists and five goals.



Fabian Hurzeler, the head coach of Brighton, gave the Ghanaian full-back high marks, saying:

"We are happy that Tariq will be staying with us. He provides us with excellent options in a variety of areas and wants to assist the team in reaching our goals. Next season, we are excited to have Tariq join us on our trip.

Lamptey made 20 appearances in all competitions during the 2024–25 season, tallying three goals and two assists.

He has eight caps with the Black Stars. He switched from England to Ghana as his international team in 2022.


Brighton will benefit from Lamptey's extension as they get ready for the new campaign under Hurzeler and look to improve on their previous campaigns.
