Asante Kotoko's 3-1 loss to Vision FC on the last day of the Ghana Premier League did not surprise head coach Karim Zito, who acknowledged he had predicted the outcome even before their final match against Medeama.

It was the veteran coach's first defeat since taking over the Porcupine Warriors in the latter weeks of the season.

Emmanuel Antwi gave Kotoko the lead in the 38th minute, but Vision rallied with three goals in a row to win and conclude their first season in the top flight in 11th position.

In a post-game interview, Zito praised Vision's abilities but emphasized that the loss might be advantageous.

"I anticipated the first loss before the Medeama match. Since it will enable me to properly rearrange my boys for the final, I am not very concerned.

Kotoko finished the season fourth in the league, but they will have one last opportunity to win a trophy on June 15 when they play Golden Kick in the FA Cup final.

A win would also guarantee a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup the following season.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Bibiani GoldStars FC won their first-ever Ghana Premier League title, stunningly, leaving their mark on Ghanaian football history.

The Western North-based team won the 2024–25 championship with 63 points, ahead of Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak, after crushing demoted Accra Lions FC 4-0 at the crowded Dun's Park.

Head coach Frimpong Manso, who only joined the GoldStars earlier this season after leaving relegated Tano Bofoakwa, had a dream season culminating in the team's decisive victory.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Osei left a gap that Manso filled, and he instantly turned the team into a force that won titles.

In an emotional post-match interview, Frimpong Manso stated,

"Everyone is clearly very thrilled. I am amazed by the happiness of the entire town. The town's happiness makes me quite happy.

His remarks perfectly captured the spirit of Bibiani, as supporters flocked to the streets to celebrate a season that surpassed all expectations.

GoldStars have secured their spot in the 2025–26 CAF Champions League with their victory.

For Bibiani, this is more than simply a football championship; it is a moment of pride, solidarity, and a testament to what is possible if one has faith and perseverance.
