Karim Zito, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, says he is intent on fixing the errors that caused his team to lose to Vision FC 3-1 before their pivotal matchup in the MTN FA Cup final on June 15.
Zito acknowledged that his team was second best, but he thinks the loss could be a timely warning before they play Golden Kicks in the season's final match. This was Zito's first loss since taking over the Porcupine Warriors.
Next season's CAF Confederation Cup will be open to the FA Cup winner.
"Vision FC performed well and deserved to win, but this game is a wake-up call for the finals," Zito told reporters after the game.
"I anticipated it before the Medeama match. Since it will enable me to properly rearrange my boys for the final, I am not very concerned.
When Emmanuel Antwi gave Kotoko the lead in the 38th minute, Edmond Asante and Frank Duku's goals reversed the tide in favor of Vision FC.
Kotoko finishes the Ghana Premier League season in fourth position as a result.
Now that Kotoko wants to finish the season with a trophy, Zito turns his attention to getting his team ready for the FA Cup final.
