After winning his second league title, Vincent Atinga, a center-back for the Bibiani Gold Stars, has openly declared himself a ticket to success and thrown down the gauntlet to Ghana Premier League clubs.
Atinga did not hold back in his post-title celebrations after assisting the Bibiani Gold Stars in winning the 2024β25 Ghana Premier League championship. He sent a confident message to prospective suitors, saying, "If you want to win the league in Ghana, you should sign me."
The 31-year-old defender is currently one of the few active players to win the Premier League twice in such a short period, having done it with Hearts of Oak in 2020β2021 and most recently with Medeama.
Following his team's brutal 4-0 thumping of the Accra Lions, Atinga said, "I do not have words to convey my thoughts."
"I am ecstatic because I led Medeama to league victory, and I did it with Gold Stars as well. It was really, really challenging. There are ups and downs, you know. It was challenging because we lost certain games that we were meant to win.
Atinga, who participated in 18 games and was well-known for his dominant defensive presence and aerial prowess, was essential to the Gold Stars' triumph run.
As the local football industry prepares for the upcoming season, his comments have generated discussion among fans and commentators about whether teams like Nations FC or Asante Kotoko should think about signing him.
Atinga is obviously not afraid to stake his claim as one of the league's most valuable assets, and speculation about his future move is already intensifying as his contract with the Gold Stars nears its expiration in 2026.
One thing is certain as the transfer window draws near: expectations will rise wherever Vincent Atinga ends up, possibly even leading to another league championship.
Gold Stars, meanwhile, have guaranteed Ghana a spot in the CAF Champions League for the upcoming season.
