It was uncertain after the season all because Nations FC had staged a complaint against Basake HolyStars, the ruling was heavily going to impact the Ghana Premier League table. In Tuesday the 10th of June the Ghana football association brought out the verdict of that particular game and all they had to say was that Nations FC had lost the protest and they also deducted three points and three goals from them. This totally changed the dynamics of the top four and made it different from what many had seen after match day 34. This meant that Bibiani Goldstars would stay in 1st position with their 63 points and Kpando Hearts Of Lions would move into the second place with 60 points. The porcupine warriors Kumasi Asante Kotoko then took over from Nations FC on the 3rd spot. And even though Accra Hearts Of Oak came had same points with Kotoko, they placed third after comparing both sides head to head.
For the first time in a while all 3 three teams that qualified from division 1 have stayed in the premier league.
This is the most limping and debilitated argument I have heard from a journalist post the current GPL season.
That, Asante Kotoko signed top players compared to Hearts, who basically acquired 'fringe players' as they put it except in the case of Asamoah Boateng and some few others so the two teams accumulating the same points ( 58) at the end of the league put Hearts ahead of Kotoko in terms of performance. A complete fallacy premised by infected analysis and I want to highlight 4 key reasons such a commentary should be expunged from the records of Kessben Sports and how that error of an argument should never be in the football lexicon of any analytical sports journo or football fan.First of all, it's absolutely incomprehensible and an insult to the game governed by rules and regulations to ever suggest that Hearts were better than Kotoko when we consider the league table. Per the current GPL table, Kotoko are placed 4th and Hearts, 5th due to better head to head.
