The summer transfer window is still buzzing, even though there's been a bit of a pause before the Club World Cup kicks off. And wow, things are heating up! Liverpool is gearing up for a medical with Florian Wirtz after sealing an eye-popping £127 million deal with Bayer Leverkusen. That’s a new British record, beating the £115 million Chelsea shelled out for Moises Caicedo. Quite the summer splash, huh?

Meanwhile, Arsenal isn’t sitting back. They’re working on bringing in a couple of key players. Martin Zubimendi is finally on the verge of joining for about £59 million, which is exciting, especially since talks started almost a year ago. Mikel Arteta has really had his eye on him as a dream signing. Plus, they’re looking to add Benjamin Sesko to the squad for around £60 million. But, just so you know, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen will be pricier, especially with Manchester United keeping tabs on them.

Chelsea is currently zeroed in on their first Club World Cup match against LAFC this Sunday. But, you know, they’re also likely to rekindle their interest in Mike Maignan and Jamie Gittens after missing the boat on them earlier this summer. On the other hand, Manchester City has successfully wrapped up deals for Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders. And, oh, Tottenham is about to make it official by announcing Thomas Frank as their new manager. Keep an eye out for all the latest transfer news, rumors, and gossip below!

Now, about Viktor Gyokeres — there’s some big news brewing. Reportedly, his agent had a sit-down with both Arsenal and Manchester United regarding a transfer just yesterday. And guess what? They’re both expected to put in formal offers to Sporting CP soon.

It looks like Arsenal might have the upper hand since Gyokeres is keen on playing in the Champions League.

As for the meeting, Varandas mentioned that Gyokeres wasn’t there, but he wanted some assurances. What came out of it? Well, Sporting won't demand a release clause right now. The reasoning? Gyokeres is turning 27, and typically, players don’t leave Portugal at that age for €90 or €100 million.

Over in Manchester, United just landed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million and are in talks with Brentford about Bryan Mbeumo. Gyokeres is also on their radar. Meanwhile, City has signed Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves, Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, and Rayan Cherki from Lyon.
