It came as a surprise to many because of especially the person of whom the matter came from and the fact that the station involved was a big brand that many in the country believe and really idolise for credible news. But on that evening on the sports nite show Mr. Enoch Akwasi Walayno Wallace split out some information that was really out of place and brought lots of eyes on him. Enoch Wallace made it look as if Polly went to a beer bar and caused his own death. The lovers of the club came down on this and really made demands of apology and retraction of those statements. The station went on to suspend him and also apologised to the club, Asante Kotoko then took an action to stay away from programs on Asempa FM.
And this is what the club has said on the issue and how they have resolved it with the management of multimedia as a whole.
“Asante Kotoko SC has lifted the ban on Asempa FM following constructive engagements with the management of Multimedia Group.
The ban, imposed on March 3, 2025, stemmed from serious concerns about a program aired by Asempa FM regarding the death of our supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong (Pooley). The club took issue with the station's handling of the matter and imposed the ban.
Through recent discussions, Multimedia Group acknowledged these concerns and the parties have amicably resolved their issues and have agreed to work together for the best interest of Ghana football. In light of this, the club considers the issue addressed and the ban lifted, effective immediately.
We thank our supporters for their patience and still remain committed to responsible media engagement and justice for Pooley."
This was to happen somewhere last year and it was really broadcasted that many people thought Asante Kotoko's preseason was going to be in Nigeria so that they get some good amount of funds in addition, but it did not and this year the first edition of the Eko international cup would be played in Nigeria. This first edition has some big clubs from both Africa and also the world at large.
