By winning the FA Cup this weekend, Abdul Karim Zito hopes to put an end to his tenure as Asante Kotoko's temporary coach.
Following Prosper Narteh Ogum's dismissal following a run of disappointing performances, the seasoned strategist joined the Porcupine Warriors a few months before the season ended.
With the Porcupine Warriors finishing third in the just-finished Ghana Premier League season and leading the team to the FA Cup finals, Zito made an instant impression.
Zito maintains that if he can win the FA Cup, his time at Kotoko will have value as the squad prepares for the final on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors and Division One team Golden Kick FC will square off in a fiercely competitive match at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
"If I can win the FA Cup, my time with Kotoko will have value. Football is about grabbing the moment when it presents itself. In an interview with Kessben FM, he stated, "We all need to battle and win this Cup on Sunday because this is one of the moments in football."
After leading Dreams FC to victory in the 2022–2023 season, Zito is a one-time FA Cup champion.
Both Kotoko and Golden Kick FC are vying for the ultimate prize, and the highly anticipated final will begin at 5:00 PM.
The FA Cup winner will earn a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup the following year.

I wish I could play with Asamoah Gyan, said Christopher Bonsu Baah.
Christopher Bonsu Baah, a Ghanaian international, has shown his respect for former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, saying he would have cherished playing with the legendary striker.
After joining the team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications against Chad and Madagascar, the 20-year-old earned his Ghanaian debut during the Unity Cup. Despite not playing in those games, his performance in the friendly tournament made a big impression.
Bonsu Baah expressed his wish to play with Gyan on the field in an interview with 3Sports.
When asked which Ghanaian legend he would have preferred to play alongside, he responded, "Asamoah Gyan, in my opinion." Since we all enjoy playing with him. I can offer him plenty of balls to score with his style of play, and I can also get assists.
With 51 goals, Gyan continues to be Ghana's all-time leading scorer, and the younger Black Stars players are not immune to his effect.
